Three separate areas come together to form the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, each centered around a different lake. Sailing, kayaking, fishing and waterskiing are some of the favorite activities at these large lakes and their feeder rivers. Multiple campgrounds offer plenty of space for overnight stays, and there are lovely hiking trails that lead to wonderful overlooks, gorgeous waterfalls and prime wildlife watching sites. All three lakes are within about 15 miles of one another, located to the north and west of the town of Redding.
Open daily year round.
